This baby American robin was sitting on a fence waiting for its mother to come back. After taking a couple shots of it on the fence, we picked it up. Don't worry, it is a myth that picking up a baby bird causes its mother to abandon it due to the smell - most songbirds don't have a very good sense of smell anyway. We were very careful with the baby and it was not injured while in our hands. The mother was in a nearby tree the whole time and returned to her baby after we left.
